Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity

The congregation is actively involved with Laurel County Habitat for Humanity and has helped build several new homes in the community. We support the mission of Habitat for Humanity to provide decent and affordable housing to families in need.

Come-Unity Cooperative Care

Come-Unity Cooperative Care

Come-Unity Cooperative Care (CCC) is a local relief agency that demonstrates God's love by providing food, clothing, shelter and more. Hundreds of families are assisted each year, in part, through the generous financial and personal involvement of First Presbyterian Church.

Caregivers

Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers provides care and assistance to elderly and handicapped residents of Laurel County. First Presbyterian Church provides volunteers and financial assistance in this new program directed by The Bennett Center of London, Kentucky.

YWAM

Youth With A Mission is based in Tyler, Texas and provides discipleship training and mission experience to young people. The congregation supports Terry and Kim Sallee in their work with YWAM.

Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child provides gift-filled shoe boxes to children living in desperate situations around the world. It is a ministry of Samaritan's Purse, an interdenominational relief agency. Operation Christmas Child involves the children of First Presbyterian Church, allowing them to become personally involved in the mission of Jesus Christ.

Honduras Mission Project

Teams from First Presbyterian Church have traveled to places like Honduras, to assist with rebuilding efforts following Hurricane Mitch in 1998.
